I have reasons to be proud of being a part of the Hinduja College of Nursing. The college and the faculty have given me an environment conducive for my overall growth, both personally and professionally. The teachers here are extremely helpful and they go to every extent to ensure that each student gets the attention that is needed. As I completed my H.S.C, I decided to pursue a career in nursing, as it not only a rewarding career with numerous job opportunities, but also a very fulfilling one.

When I was selecting an institute, I was convinced that P.D. Hinduja College of Nursing would be the best choice, as it is NAAC accredited. And indeed it landed up being a great platform to improve as an individual, both personally and professionally.

This college has given me the best in terms of academics, as it strives for excellence and has the best faculty with deep knowledge & experience. It has instilled in me, the vital value of life-long learning.

Perhaps one of the most important principles that I learnt from my faculty during my research was – 'Learning involves making mistakes while pursuing the joy of discovery'. Incorporating the research component along with a sound academic foundation, enabled me to develop independent critical thinking along with oral & written communication skills.

On the other hand, it has also exposed me to a whole new world of opportunities, to shine in academics as well as co-curricular activities by participating in numerous inter-college and inter-state competitions.

It was the unfolding of God's marvellous plan in my life when I became part of the first batch of M.Sc. nursing in Hinduja College of Nursing.

The abundant learning experiences here laid the foundation for my professional growth. Because of the able guidance I received here, I had the honour of being the first to be awarded the rolling trophy and the gold medal and also received the Vice Chancellor's certificate of Merit for standing 3rd in the university. Mumbai, November 27, 2017: P.D. Hinduja College of Nursing, in affiliation with the Maharashtra University of Heath Sciences (MUHS), today inaugurated and launched India's first Lactation Consultant Course for nurses. The nursing college, recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and Maharashtra Nursing Council (MNC), will begin this new course on December 04, 2017.

Lactation Consultants specialize in the field of breastfeeding and provide mothers with breastfeeding education, solutions to various breast-feeding related problems and, help with babies that are not gaining enough weight.

Addressing the launch of the new course, Dr Jaya Kuruvilla , PD Hinduja Nursing College said, Through this new course, our goal is to close the gap between the existent lack of knowledge and ideal practices of breastfeeding that need to be followed. With the course, lactation consultants will be able to provide new mothers with access to correct information and help them develop a positive attitude towards breastfeeding and assist with initiation of breast feeding within half an hour in normal delivery and sustaining it through two years."
